My ein for Success
I am prepared to teach engaging and meaningful lessons; therefore, my students will be prepared and motivated to learn. Respect must always be a mutual consideration between both me and my students. This is the cornerstone of any successful relationship and once it is established, a positive and productive learning environment can exist.
Classroom Rules
1. Show respect in the classroom.
2. Come prepared and ready for class.
3. Complete assignments in a timely and appropriate manner.
4. Perform our individual best to be productive and successful.
Behavior Redirection
1. Warning verbally
2. Isolate student from distraction
3. Seat change to provide focus
4. Parent contact for support & Detention notification
5. Referral to the office
My Attention Signal
Signals & Cues
Stand still in predetermined spot in the front of the room and state, “Ladies and Gentlemen, your attention, please.”
Second signal, “I’ll wait” the equivalent amount of time it takes the class to settle down, they will stay with me after the dismal bell.
Encouragement Procedures
Positive reinforcement: verbal, redirection, peer support. Several attempts will be made to get the students to refocus and be productive.
Motivation System
Goal: Positive feedback, behavior redirection, peer coaching, professional development points.
“WISPR”
Warning teacher verbalizes the exact inappropriate behavior and reminds the students of the appropriate expected behavior
Isolate students are separated from the problem and talked to one on one, reemphasizing #1
Seat change students are relocated from the problem and allowed to refocus, contact made to parent
Parent/Detention contact made to parent for additional support and informed of detention & assignment to be served within 2 days.

My Beginning and Ending Routines
1. Routine for how students will enter the room
Greeting, Obtain binder, View BBC &/or Google Classroom, Start Do Now
2. Routine for how students will be engaged while attendance is taken for how opening business is conducted

3. Routine for dealing with tardy students
All are input in SIS. 1 Verbal warning, 2 & 3 detention and writing assignment of plan of action to get to class on time, 4 office referral
4. Routine for dealing with student who come to class without necessary materials
Free supplies are in reach of students to borrow in the common area/Community Table. Most needed materials are kept in the classroom for accessibility.
5. Routine for dealing with students upon their return from an absence
Student responsible to first check the Lesson Plan Binder for previous activity, Take notes and ask questions at open opportunity. Encouraged to come after school or before school for guidance and clarification. Many assignment build from the previous class, so it may be necessary to complete a shortened version of the assignments before beginning the current task.
6. Routine for wrapping up at the end of the day/class
Class – Materials away, Overview of lesson, Homework reminder, Keyboards and mice pushed up to monitor, Straighten all tables, and after the bell, I dismiss “Have a great day” if all is organized and settled and then chairs are pushed under desks. Day – all the same and add close blinds, lights off, lock door.
7. Routine for dismissal.
Bell, pause, based on my approval, I will state “Have a good day!” (students are dismissed to leave) or “You are not ready.”(time needed to finish straightening, settle and sit down) then upon approval dismissed with “Have a good day!
Procedures for Managing Student Work
1. Procedures for Assigning Classwork and Homework
Teacher announced, Guided practice then assign work
2. Procedures for Managing Independent Work Periods
Monitor classroom, check for understanding, time frame given
3. Procedures for Collecting Completed Work
Students turn in the assigned class bin
4. Procedures for keeping records and providing feedback to students
Most documentation will be in sis or gradebook, feedback will be verbal, written, routine
5. Procedures and policies for dealing with late/missing assignments
Late assignments receive 10% grade modification. Assignments not done in the presence of a teacher may be reduced to 50%.
6. How will assignments be posted?
On BBC &/or /Google Classroom
7. Students keeping progress reports
8. Students exchanging/grading papers
Fine for checks for understanding. No assessments
9. Posting of student work
Voluntarily grades of 70% or better
10. Student work: heading of papers, passing of papers, use of pen or pencil, writing on back of paper, neatness, due dates, notebook expectations, homework(when/how much/grading/turning in)
All reviewed during first couple of meetings of class. All are a part of class introduction and classroom environment and procedures.
y Student Expectations/Procedures
1. Student receiving permission to speak/comment/ask questions/leave desk, etc
Speak and move freely and respectfully as not to promote chaos and disrupt the class.
2. Students coming to attention signal
After using my signal, if students are still off task generally their peers will make them aware.
3. Students needing to throw away paper
Minimal movement but at their discretion. Take care of personal business at appropriate time.
4. Students needing to sharpen pencil
Same
5. Student needing to go to the restroom/nurse/office/counselor
Must have planner or pass. Fill it in completely before bringing it up to me. Minimal passes will be given. Nurse, office, counselor need explanation before approval.
6. Student expectations for intercom announcements
Everyone must sit in silence whenever PA comes on.
7. Student expectations – emergency (fire drill/evacuation/lockdown/bad weather
Move quickly and quietly and double check nearby classmates.
8. Student expectations for going to the board
Participation is expected and some encouragement and time will be given to allow hesitant students time to participate.

Allow students to continue working on previous day’s task as noted. If and only if no work is in process then follow plans left in sub folder.
